My cousin bought two female Muscovy ducks. Only they weren't both female. Then they laid 23 eggs. And his three daughters wanted to let them hatch. A few months later, he had 25 very noisy, VERY stinky fully grown ducks in his backyard. He finally had to get rid of them when the neighbours started complaining about the smell. BUT, they had to go to good homes, because (sigh)..the girls had named them all.. :)celiahttp://www.figjamandlimecordial.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4442590938178624983.post-60841928049513545232011-09-20T23:12:34.551+10:002011-09-20T23:12:34.551+10:00They are adorable and I'm sure a lot of enjoym...They are adorable and I'm sure a lot of enjoyment to watch.
Cher Sunray GardensSunray Gardenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06691531921190526219noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4442590938178624983.post-57195613286428121592011-09-20T20:46:06.252+10:002011-09-20T20:46:06.252+10:00Ooo an artichoke! I think it's funny how involved we get with our eggs, I can even tell the layer by the shape of the eggs, pretty sad. I love the pics of the piggys and sorry to say that I'm with your hubby about the ducks, they are messy. But the are wonderful pets, I would love to keep some also. Finally just on the artichoke, I am still waiting for our 'globes' but wanted to share that if you remove the leaves from the base (they just snap off) as they grow, you get more flowers and they take up less space. If you try again, give it a go.Take care from YollieFairyCastleFarmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07458220860624023410noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4442590938178624983.post-31230123820328515982011-09-19T08:10:01.202+10:002011-09-19T08:10:01.202+10:00Ha! Tell me if it is as small as the one that you posted a while back. How do you measure an egg anyway? As for ducks being messy? Our cousin had a duck in his backyard for years. I think my dad had one that hung out with the dog and ate dog food. As for the fowl in your photo, those are geese. Geese are very aggressive and mean. Ducks have a sweeter nature.annhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01668006270534204954noreply@blogger.com
