There have been bets placed on whether or not our flight takes off...first it was the Icelandic Grimsvotn volcano a few weeks ago...and now it's the Chilean Puyehue volcano and its roaming ash cloud! It may have something to do with my manager and his secret wishes for me to stay at work that have brought all this about...

It really makes me appreciate all the more how powerful and how much larger than mere humans the earth and nature really is. I'm in awe. I'm sure the pilots have had fun during their enforced ground time...practising their loud speaker voices and playing chess ... or something!
I plan to blog whilst I'm away as a way to keep memories of where we've been and what we've been up to - but mainly because I'll miss you very much and I have to keep up with what you're all up to! Any guesses for where I'm going...? Hints are - divine pastries, a giant's causeway and a faery or two - and lastly monkeys and sand :) Oh I'm dreading the massively long flight with the entire Bok family in tow...any tips for keeping Master Bok (2) and Miss Bok (6) occupied on the plane??!! Help!!!!!
Housesitters will look after our home beautifully I know - and the chooks will miss us and their daily hot porridge but to be truthful, I'm a bit thankful to be escaping the clutches of winter and the frosty mornings!
Well, fingers crossed that rogue volcanos and itinerant ash clouds won't hold us back tomorrow!
