Once a month I meet up with a group of girlfriends at this lovely little cafe/bakery. I've been going there for nearly two decades now! And it never fails to warm my heart. So many memories sitting there in the steamy warmth in winter with the fragrance of good coffee and freshly baking bread enveloping me whilst I sit pouring over notes - or chatting with a few friends about life, politics, the environment, boyfriends...girlfriends...then wives...and husbands...then children! Friendships sustain you as surely as food and wine do.

Another place I love on the same shopping strip is the little garden nursery.  Love the water vessel - reminds me of an artichoke!

I couldn't resist taking home hairy harry :)

  1. Lovely! I so envy your friends and cafe get togethers... it looks so warm and inviting and YUMMY!

  2. A lovely place to spend with friends and family.

  3. It sounds like a fabulous afternoon - fabulous friends and fabulous food it always a wonderful combination.

  4. What a lovley day you had whith the girls!
Hairy Harry :-)i hope he will like it in your home so his hair will grow well ;-)
    Hugs from me!

  5. I have three ponytail palms or Elephant's foot them. I am sure Hairy Harry will be happy. A perfect day....

  6. Love your image of the bakery and its longevity. I see small businesses close all too often, especially in surrounding country towns, and it's always lovely to see one that survives the times. gxo

  7. Isn't that nice, Mrs B. I love that you've been meeting up with the same friends every month for the last 20 years...

  8. Oh, gorgeous. Such beautiful photos - it looks like a lovely day and a lovely cafe!
